Hurricane Dorian - Sandbag Locations




Jacksonville-

Clay County with be providing sandbags Saturday Aug.31st at 12.pm with a limit of 25 sandbags per family. Sandbags with be available at:


  • Omega Park, 4317 County Road 218, Middleburg

  • Eagle Harbor Soccer Complex, 4387 Lakeshore Drive, Fleming Island 

  • Old Green Cove Fire Station #1 21 Roderigo Avenue, Green Cove Springs

  • Orange Park Athletic Association, 1086 Fromhart Street, Orange Park

  • Keystone Heights Cemetery (Sand only), 7304 State Road 100, Keystone Heights

  • The City of St. Augustine said residents could fill up sandbags at multiple locations: 

  • Francis Field on West Castillo Drive on Thursday, August 29th from 12pm-5pm

  • Windswept Acres Park, 5335 SR A1A South 

  • Sims Pit, 536 South Holmes Boulevard 

  • Hastings Community  Center, 6195 South Main Street, behind the building

  • Mills Field, 1805 Race Track Road, in the overflow parking lot

  • Palm Valley, under the Palm Valley Bridge on the east side of the Intracoastal Waterway

  • North Beach Park, 3721 Coastal Highway (at the walkover) 

The sand and bags will be provided for free. Residence must bring their own shovels and are responsible for filling their own bags. There is a 20 bag limit per person. 


Flagler County has several locations with sand and sandbags for local residences:

Self service sandbag location at Palm Coast Public Works Yard located at 1 Wellfield Grade from sunrise to sunset 


Empty sandbags (but no sand) are available from 8am to 5pm Monday- Friday at Palm Coast City Hall, 160 Lake Avenue


Sandbags can be filled at these self service sand stations:

  • -Indian Trails Sports Complex, 5455 Belle Terre Parkway 

  • -Seminole Woods Neighborhood Park, 350 Sesame Boulevard 

  • Bradford County is starting to supply sandbags Thursday Aug.29th at 12pm at:

  • Bradford County Sheriff’s Office maintenance yard, 810 North Grand Street, Starke (Access will be off Davis Street at Bradford Gun & Pawn) 

  • Nassau County sandbags will be available to residence beginning at 7 am Thursday at the following locations:

  • 97177 Pogey Place, Fernandina Beach (North End Boat Ramp)

  • 86142 Goodbread Road, Yulee (Yulee Sports Complex)

  • 45401 Mickler Street, Callahan (Walter Boatright County Building) 

  • 37356 Pea Farm Road, Hillard (Hilliard Road & Bridge Yard) 

  • Residence must fill up their own sandbags. There will be a limit of 25 bags per household. Bags and shovels will be provided. Residence should bring their ID for proof of residency.

Orlando - Orange county will be distributing pre-made sandbags to residence on Friday and Saturday at the following locations from 9am to 7pm  
  • John Young Maintenance Unit- 4200 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32839

  • West Orange Maintenance Unit- 704 Beulah Rd, Winter Garden, FL 34787

  • Zellwood Maintenance Unit- 3500 Golden Gem Rd, Apopka, FL 32712

  • Taft Maintenance Unit- 11442 Intermodal Way, Orlando, FL 32824

  • Bithlo Maintenance Unit- 18715 Old Cheney Highway, Orlando, FL 32820

  • Blanchard Park 2451 N Dean Rd, Orlando, FL 32817 (Situated at the Dean Road Entrance) 

  • Orange County Residents who would like to fill their own sandbags can do Friday and Saturday at the following locations:

  • Meadow Woods Recreation Center- 1751 Rhode Island Woods Circle Orlando, FL 32824

  • West Orange Recreation Complex- 309 S. West Crown Point Rd Winter Garden, FL 34787

  • Barnett Park- 2804 W Colonial Dr. Orlando, FL 32808

  • Bithlo Community Park- 18501 Washington St. Orlando, FL 32820 


Winter Park

Ward Park & Showalter Stadium Parking Lot (288 Perth Lane) 

Friday, August 30, from 9am to 5pm and Saturday August 31, from 8am to 12pm


Ocoee

Sandbags will be provided to Ocoee residence only. Sand will be available at 301 Mcguire Road from 7am to 5pm 


Maitland:

Maitland will begin distributing on Thursday. City residence will be able to pick up 10 bags per person until 7pm at Maitland Community Park, 1400 May Avenue.

Bags will be provided starting at 8am on Friday until supplies run out. 


The entrance to the park can be accessed from Mayo Avenue at 


Seminole County

Seminole County will open sandbag operations for residents beginning at noon on Wednesday, Aug 28th 2019 at the Boombah Seminole County Sports Complex. Residence will need to bring their own shovels and own bags.


Osceola County

The following locations will be available from 8am to 7pm Friday.


  • Road & Bridge Department – Kissimmee: 1698 S. Hoagland Boulevard in Kissimmee, 34741

  • Poinciana Library: 101 N. Doverplum Avenue in Poinciana, 34758Celebration 

  • Community Field Complex: 319 Campus Street in Celebration 34747Holopaw 

  • Community Center: 8801 Community Center Road in Holopaw, 34773Kenansville 

  • Community Center: 1154 S. Canoe Creek Road in Kenansville, 34739

  • Osceola Heritage Park, (Shakerag Road): 1211 Shakerag Road, Kissimmee FL 34744 There is a 25-bag limit and help is available for those unable to fill the bags themselves

  • St. Cloud Civic Center - 3003 17th St. When: Thursday, Aug. 29th & Friday, Aug. 30th Hours of Operation: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Brevard County

In anticipation of Hurricane Dorian, four locations throughout the county will be used for sandbag distribution on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m and on Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday distribution hours TBA. The sandbags are free and limited to ten per household.


The distribution locations are:

  • Eastern Florida State College, Palm Bay campus, 250 Community College Parkway SE Palm Bay

  • Calvary Chapel, Melbourne, Viera campus, 2852 Fellowship Place

  • Mitchell Ellington Park, 575 West Hall Road, Merritt Island

  • Chain of Lakes Park, 2300 Truman Scarborough Way, Titusville

Boca

Delray Beach will be providing sandbags and tarps to residence Friday until supplies last.


  • The Delray Beach Golf Course, 2200 Highland Ave. Delray Beach 

  • Pompey Park, 1101 N.W 2St Delray Beach 

  • Anchor Park, 340 South Ocean Blvd, 

  • Identification is required for proof of residency. 

  • Ft. Lauderdale 

  • Starting Friday at noon there will be sand bags for people who can provide proof of residency at the following location. 

  • Mills Pond Park at 2201 NW 9th Avenue. 

If your area was not listed please remember your local hardware store will be able to provide you with the necessary supplies to get you, your family, and your home ready for Hurricane Dorine. Hardware stores will be charging for the supplies, don’t wait till it’s to late. 


Most important, stay safe and know who to call for reconstruction if necessary after Hurricane Dorian - Baxter Restoration.
